PHYSICIAN
Greenville Women’s Care (GWC) is part of a 100 provider multi-specialty group known as Physicians East. Our GWC office is located just across the street from Vidant Medical Center, a 900+ bed academic medical center that is a tertiary care center and the home of East Carolina University’s Brody School of Medicine. The presence of a large neonatal ICU in the hospital allows our providers to do high risk as well as low risk obstetrics. We have a cordial and supportive relationship with the full-time ECU medical faculty, which includes sub specialists in Maternal Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, and Reproductive Endocrinology/Infertility. We have found that the easy availability of consultations with sub specialists has enhanced the quality of our practice. We have also found that it is much easier to stay up to date with changes in our specialty due to the ongoing interaction that we have with residents and medical students in addition to the easy access to educational activities, such as the weekly grand rounds in OB-GYN. Call is shared equally with seven other physicians. For those interested in teaching residents, a Clinical position is available with the ECU SOM.
Greenville is a lovely college town with a population of about 95,000. Located in the eastern plains of North Carolina, it is approximately 80 miles east of Raleigh. The economy and culture of Greenville are dominated by the presence of East Carolina University, a 29,000-student campus of the University of North Carolina system. The music and performing arts departments of the University are very strong, and every year there are numerous high quality musical and theatrical productions involving both ECU faculty and distinguished visiting performers. Greenville is not far from the North Carolina coast, with Atlantic Beach only 78 miles away, and many members of the Greenville medical community have vacation homes or condominiums at the beach. In addition, the large rivers and estuaries of eastern North Carolina are nearby and are ideal for all types of boating and water sports.
In summary, we are offering a partnership practice opportunity in a very desirable location and in a medical environment which allows us to combine the intellectual stimulation of academic medicine with the independence and financial rewards of private practice. Board Certified and Board Eligible candidates are invited to apply by emailing your Curriculum Vitae to Scott Cole, Physician Recruiter at scole@physicianseast.com.
